Our favourite places

If you're travelling from afar to celebrate with us, our dream is that you'll stay a few extra days. Not just for the wedding, but to fall in love with our Tuscany the way we did. We've gathered here the places we hold dearest: the ones we always come back to, where we've eaten wonderfully, where we've happily lost ourselves among the hills. Take them as tips between friends. 💛

This is the Tuscany that will steal your heart, and honestly, our favorite. Just around the corner from us is Ghizzano, a small village with painted houses and art installations lining the alleys: it seems like a secret, and in fact almost no one knows about it. Then there are the villages we love the most: Pienza , tiny and perfect, where the air smells of pecorino cheese; San Gimignano with its towers that rise from afar; Volterra , more rugged and quiet, with its alabaster workshops; and then Lucignano, Sarteano, Cortona, Anghiari, and Sansepolcro , each with its own soul to be discovered at your leisure. If you dream of waking up surrounded by greenery, try Agriturismo Borgo Nuovo di Mulinelli or Agriturismo San Giorgio .

Hills and Villages

Among our favorite options is Cantina Badia di Morrona in Terricciola: an ancient abbey surrounded by vineyards. If you feel like heading further south, climb up to Montepulciano, where cellars carved into the tuff hide beneath the buildings and where Vino Nobile rests. And make sure to stop at Osteria Acquacheta for a divine Fiorentina steak. Not far away is Montalcino , the home of Brunello , and the Chianti hills , where we think the best gelato is made at Gelateria di Castellina . And if you're passing through Chiusi , you can't miss Ristorante "Il Punto " in Chiusi Scalo.

For the wine lovers
  • Lucca — It's right around the corner and one of our favorite places. Rent a bike and ride around the walls: it's the best way to fall in love with it. Then enjoy a coffee in Piazza dell'Anfiteatro and climb the Guinigi Tower, with its trees growing at the top.

  • Pisa — Yes, the Leaning Tower. But trust me: the best part is a stroll along the Lungarni at sunset... and if you're craving a proper Neapolitan pizza, head to Anima di Grano.

  • Siena — Sit in the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo and simply relax. The Duomo will leave you speechless. (PS: Take a photo like ours and send it to us!)

  • Florence — A little further away, but if you love art, it's a must: the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Ponte Vecchio. And for a true Florentine trattoria, we head to Trattoria da Burde.

The sea is just a stone's throw away, and we go there whenever we can. Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia are the closest and most convenient, with beaches and excellent seafood.

Heading up towards Versilia, you'll find Forte dei Marmi , the most elegant (and expensive): perfect for a stroll among the boutiques, an aperitif with a view, or a day at one of the historic beach resorts. And finally, Viareggio , with its beautiful Art Nouveau architecture and long promenades along the seafront.

For seafood, our favorite place is Trattoria Armandino in Livorno —authentic, informal, and delicious—and for delicious breakfasts and pastries, you can't miss Loretta Fanella's pastry shop .

P.S. Our absolute favorite "maritime" spot is Calambrone: it's where we've spent all our Italian summers for the past five years. 💛
